Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 is enjoying an incredible success and it’s one of the most played games online on all platforms. With the immense popularity always come problems for the online portions of the game, with people not behaving correctly and ruining the experience for legit players.
What happened to the first ranked player on Xbox 360 is really absurd and shows how some players take games way to seriously, forcing a player who legitimately got his rank to reset his stats to resume playing. Gameranx reports that Retrominano was formerly the number 1 Black Ops 2 player on Xbox 360 and, according to many other gamers, he did get his rank simply by playing, without any cheap trick: in the last few days he has had some problems getting on Xbox Live, staying connected for only a few minutes before getting disconnected. In the end, the problem was that some other player from the US was using DDoS attacks against him: he tried resetting his own IP a few times, but things didn’t change at all.
In the end, to get back on Xbox Live, he was forced to completely reset his stats: he got back to Level 1 and the attacks have completely stopped. Treyarch and Activision haven’t commented on the whole issue but it is expected of them to do something about this: this clearly is something that ruined the online experience of Black Ops 2.
