Despite the crisis of the rhythm game genre, with the series that started it all, Guitar Hero, put on hold and many other projects that didn’t do good on the market, the Rock Band series, developed by Harmonix, has tried to change things up a bit to remain safe from such failures: Rock Band Blitz was released back in August and didn’t come with any new instrument. It was almost a going back to the roots of the genre, with simple button inputs, just like old rhythm games like Parappa The Rapper, a system which was already used in the PSP entry of the series, Rock Band: Unplugged.
Harmonix hasn’t forgotten all players who bought Rock Band 3: the tracks available exclusively on Rock Bad Blitz will become available for Rock Band 3 as well duirng next week. Players will be able to download three extra tracks: Foster the People – Pumped Up Kicks, Foo Fighters – These Days and Maroon 5 ft Christina Aguilera – Moves Like Jagger. These tracks are priced 1.99$ for Xbox 360 and Ps3, 2.00$ for Wii. A new track pack will also be available next week: the “Foster The People Pack” will include the already mentioned Pumped Up Kicks track together with another two tracks, Helena Beat and Don’t Stop (Color On The Walls). The Foster the People Pack will be available for 5.49$ on all platforms.
