Naruto: Powerful Shippuden is the latest Naruto based game released by Namco Bandai in Japan. The game has been developed on Nintendo 3DS and released in Japan last November, trying to take advantage of the popularity of both Naruto and the 3DS console in the land of the rising sun. The game is also coming to the west on March in Europe and North America, despite many fans feared the game would not come over for a few reasons: the game is based on a Naruto spin-off starring Rock Lee and the game itself sports a super deformed look, an art style which may not perform too well outside Japan.

The game is a side scroller beat’em up with some light RPG elements: the game includes a Story mode, following Rock Lee as he beats up ninja and other enemies, meeting other characters from the Naruto universe, each coming with original voice work from the anime’s voice actors. For players desiring a more fast paced, action oriented experience, there’s a Battle mode available without any plot to follow.

The game will officially launch on March 8th in Europe and North America and Namco Bandai has released a new trailer for the western versions today: you watch it by going here.
