The Humble Indie Bundle was one of the best projects I’ve seen in quite a while.  Supporting great indie games and developers while still donating to charity, you really can’t get better than that.  The guys behind Humble Bundles reported that they have sold nearly 400,000 bundles to date, the sale is now over, but there will be more Humble Bundles down the road.  The total sales figures reached $2,650,514.09, which is a terrific figure.  The great sales numbers allowed the Humble Bundle organization to donate $9 million to charity.

Gamers who bought the bundle received some pretty great deals.  DRM-free, cross-platform games with the addition to some wonderful soundtracks as well.  Games like Snapshot, Closure, and Shank 2 were just some of the few featured in the epic bundle.  These titles were not only some of the best indie games this year, but you can even put them against some of the bigger triple-A titles as well.  You also received the fantastic film, Indie Game: The Movie with your purchase as well.  This bundle really celebrated the great year for indie developers.  With 7 bundles under their belts, the team looks to continue the improvement in sales.  The fifth bundle is still the best selling out of the seven, with over $5 million in sales.
