As we reported last week, Elite: Dangerous was really close in hitting its Kickstarter’s goal: with only some time left, the game was almost totally funded and fans were starting to rejoice at the news. And now it’s official: with around 50 hours left, the goal has been reached and the game will be released for sure.
With more than £1,250,000 collected and some time left until the deadline, David Braben’s team has made another promise to players: if the team manages to collect £1,400,000 the game will also receive a Mac version three months after the Pc version gets released, in true Elite fashion, having been a multiplatform series ever since its humble beginnings; if the funds raise to £1,500,000, 10 more ships will be added into the game. To make it easier a new donation option was added: if a player donates 25£ he’ll receive a digital copy of the game together with 500 free credits at the beginning of the game. If you already donated 25£ you’ll receive the bonuses as well.
This must be a great day for series’ creator David Braben, who struggled for many years to finally release another Elite game: this news comes on his birthday and this is probably the best gift he will receive!
