Despite the presence of many first person shooters on the market, each one with its own strong and weak points, there are some games which keep their popularity for quite a long time. Battlefield 3 is among them and it looks like the game will still be strong in the next year.

Thanks to a report on the game’s Battlelog, there are a total of 1070533 people registered for play on Dice’s servers: of these players, more than half, around 573854 players, are playing Battlefield 3 on Pc, while the Ps3 players are almost double than the ones playing on Xbox 360, respectively 311939 and 184740 registered users. With the fifth expansion coming on March 2013, the last scheduled so far, we can expect these number to become even bigger. Kudos to developer DICE to have made a game with a lasting multiplayer experience: most games released nowadays don’t get such a strong multiplayer community.

As a side note, Premium members will be able to enjoy until tomorrow a Double Experience event, allowing them to rack up some good experience points for the game.

Battlefield 3 was released on October 2011 on Pc, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and iOS. The game received four expansions so far, extending the title’s life. As stated earlier, a fifth expansion, called End Game is scheduled to be released on March 2013.
