Rumors have been circulating as of late about a possible multiplayer mode for the new Tom Raider game. With almost any AAA title coming with an online multiplayer mode, it was pretty much a given that the Tomb Raider series reboot would have one as well. And now it’s been officially confirmed by Crystal Dynamics, the game’s developer: Tomb Raider will have a multiplayer mode.
A tweet by Crystal Dynamics Global Brand Director Karl Stewart has confirmed the rumors but not much more has been said. The next Official Xbox Magazine issue will come with all the details regarding the multiplayer mode.
The new Tomb Raider game is a full reboot of the series featuring a younger Lara Croft: gameplay wise the game will be an open world game with platforming, exploration and RPG elements. The main game will last over 15 hours and players will be able to complete multiple side activities, extended the game’s length. The game will explore the origins of Lara Croft and how she became who she currently is: from the revealed trailers, the game will feature quite a dark plot.
Speculation can now begin: how will the multiplayer mode in Tomb Raider work out? The only way to find out is to wait the next issue of the Official Xbox Magazine.
