Dead Space 3 has been getting a lot of negative publicity for how the trailers make it look more like a Gears of War clone than a survival horror game. However, you will have a chance to see if the game still plays like a survival horror game later next month as EA has announced a Dead Space 3 demo will be released on January 22nd.

The demo will be released on Xbox Live and PSN at the same time, but a lucky few Xbox Live users will be able to access the demo a week early by going to this site demo.deadspace.com. Codes are limited and you have to either sign up for an Origin account or already have one.

The demo will supposedly be co-op where Isaac Clarke and his new partner Sgt. John Carver fighting off  necromorphs while on the ice planet. This demo news was also accompanied by a video that recaps the first two games. So if you have not played the first two Dead Space games, I would avoid this video because of massive spoilers.
