Visceral Games has uploaded a brand new trailer for upcoming horror-fest sequel, Dead Space 3. The trailer is called “Two Ways to Play”, and follows the exploits of protagonist Isaac Clarke in both single player and co-op campaigns.
The video wastes no time, instantly showing off the game’s deadly beasties you’ve come to love and fear in spectacularly gory fashion. It also provides a small glance into the storyline aspect, with Isaac being captured by a couple of shady mercenaries. In co-op mode, Isaac teams up with new character John Carver.
I know many fans aren’t thrilled at the prospect of the new co-op mode, fearing that it may detract from tense atmosphere and become a bro-fist Gears of War-type experience. However, I think that it may be quite fun. What’s more, it won’t impact your experience when going it solo, unlike Resident Evil 6 which forces you to ally with a dumb AI partner.
It is implied that both campaigns will also be quite different in terms of story, as the description reads: “See how the story changes as you play the two modes.”

Dead Space 3 will release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on February 5th in the US and the 8th in Europe.
