Brave Man Risks Hypothermia To Save Dog

1 min

A question for all dog-lovers out there: How far would you go to help or rescue a random dog?

Would you risk being bitten? Would you risk your health or even our life, or would you watch and call for rescue services or animal control to come and take care of the situation?

Let’s hope you never get to know the answer to those questions, but this man from the Russian city Kostrova certainly showed his steel and love for dogs after he performed this daring rescue.

A dog was trapped in the frozen Shagovsky pond, after the ice broke and it fell in. Emergency services have been called, but the bystanders did nothing else to help this dog in the meantime.

Then, this man did something amazing. After witnessing the situation while driving by, he stopped, got out of the car, removed his clothes and walked on the frozen pond, risking hypothermia and dog bites to save the distressed animal.

After the rescue and after the ambulances have arrived and given both of them proper care, the man only gave his first name (Alexander) not wanting any publicity for his rescue. Still, his valiant effort should not go unnoticed, so that’s why we share this rescue here.

When caring for animals outweighs the care for your own safety and well-being.
