A few very smart data minors may have just outed the next piece of DLC for Skyrim. In the recently released Skyrim patch 1.8 there was some source code that may give us hints on what will be included in the Bethesda’s next Skyrim DLC. Supposedly it will be called Dragonborn (a title which Bethesda trademarked earlier this year) and there is a chance that we might be able to ride dragons.
It is not known if the dragon riding will be a scripted event or you actually get to control the dragon. In addition, the person who found this code also indicated the DLC will likely be set “on the island of Solstheim, which lies to the North East of Skyrim.” Not only that, but the forum user who found all of this also thinks there will be a new hub with the main locations being “Raven Rock, Miraak Temple, Castle Karstaag and Telvanni Tower.”
Here is the code that forum user Mardoxx found in the Skyrim patch 1.8 that confirms the names of the DLC as Dragonborn:
$Dragonborn Quests Completed Dragonborn Quests Completed
$DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT_PS3 DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT”
In addition, here is the code that verifies the next piece of Skyrim DLC may give you the ability to fly dragons:
If I am actually able to control the dragon while flying it, I would definitely have to pick this Dragonborn Skyrim DLC up. Although, I am guessing it will be a scripted event or you can only fly the dragon over the area in the DLC and not the entire Skyrim map (I hope I am wrong though).
All of this is unconfirmed news at this point as Bethesda has yet to comment on this rumor. However, previous source code reveals such as this one have been proven true; just earlier this year Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC was outed through code found in the game.
Is riding dragons enough for you to buy the next piece of Skyrim DLC, or are you going to wait for the game of the year edition and not buy any of the DLC separately?
