A little game called Grand Theft Auto III helped to re-energize the world of gaming and made the launch of a console game a huge event for gamers, the industry and even the media. in the process, it also made a certain company into rock stars in the gaming industry, and ironically that company is Rockstar Games. Rockstar games serves not only as a publisher but also a developer and innovator in the world of gaming, with a distinct focus on open world games that tend to lean towards the chaotic. That isn’t to say that they only dabble in those types of games, because they don’t, they are also known for the popular racing series, Midnight Club, which has been going strong for over ten years now.
They have been on a roll since the release of Grand Theft Auto III, releasing hit after hit, and even establishing new series and games like Bully and the Red Dead games, which have helped to carry the acclaim beyond just Grand Theft Auto and Midnight Club. Hell, they even acquired the rights to the Max Payne series and developed and published Max Payne 3, which has received a lot of positive attention from both the press and gamers alike.
Basically, Rockstar has a lot of great games and there does not appear to be an end in sight. So, consider everyone’s surprise when it leaks out on the internet that there will soon be a collection of some of their best games, titled Rockstar Games Collection: Edition 1 being released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles and that it will sell for under $60. Yeah, that is pretty surprising. The games included in the collection are LA Noire, Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto: Tales From Liberty City and Midnight Club Los Angeles: Complete Edition.
The collection is slated to drop on November 13th and will sell for the price of one game.
